Graduation of the first class of Family Medicine Residents of the Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complexes

In a moving ceremony on June 28, the residents of Family Medicine celebrated the culmination of years of preparation, effort and dedication at the Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complexes, where they demonstrated an exemplary commitment to comprehensive and continuous patient care

Lima, Peru – Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complexes, in collaboration with the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), celebrated the graduation of the first class of Family and Community Medicine residents from the program promoted by IBT Group. The event brought together representatives of IBT Group, UPC authorities, teachers from the Hospital Complexes, families of the graduates and members of the medical community.

At a high point of the ceremony, graduates signed their contracts to continue working in the Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complexes, now as Family Physicians. This event symbolizes the continuing commitment of these professionals to the health of local communities and their integration into hospital medical teams.

The Family Medicine Residency program, an initiative of IBT Group in conjunction with UPC, has been designed to train highly trained physicians in comprehensive care for families and communities. This multidisciplinary, patient-centred approach ensures quality preventive and curative care, thus strengthening the Peruvian health system.

During the ceremony, Dr. Dante Arce, General Manager of the Hospital Complexes, expressed his pride for the new specialists and highlighted the commitment of the Organization to the promotion of Family Medicine in Peru: “This first class of family doctors is a testament to the commitment of our Complexes to continue strengthening the specialty and giving it the importance it deserves.”

Dr. Luis Estremadoyro, representative of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, also highlighted the importance of the link between the university and the Hospital Complexes, As well as being the first group of Family Medicine residents to graduate from that home, he emphasized on the continuity of the joint program.

The culmination of this first promotion is just the beginning. With plans for continued collaboration between IBT Group and the UPC, more doctors are expected to benefit from this program, contributing significantly to the improvement of health in Peru.

About the Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complexes

The Alberto Barton del Callao and Guillermo Kaelin de Villa María del Triunfo Hospital Complexes, managed by the companies Callao Salud SAC and Villa María del Triunfo Salud SAC, respectively, belonging to IBT Group, are part of the Social Security of Peru – The Health Services to the Sabogal Benefit Network and the Rebagliati Benefit Network, respectively. They are composed of a polyclinic, a hospital and the residential unit, managed under the modality of Public Private Association – APP Bata Blanca. Each Hospital Complex serves a total of 250,000 regular Peruvian Social Security insured since April 2014 who start their activities.
