IBT Group, EsSalud and ProInversión sign concession contract for construction of hospitals in Piura and Chimbote
Representatives of the Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion), Social Health Insurance (EsSalud) and IBT Group signed today the signing of the Concession Contracts for the construction of two large hospital projects in Piura and Chimbote.
These projects will benefit more than 1.2 million insured persons in the departments of Ancash, Piura and Tumbes, providing access to specialized health services that will significantly improve the care of EsSalud affiliates in these regions.

As is known, IBT has been in charge for more than ten years of the management at the Alberto Barton Hospital Complexes in Callao and Guillermo Kaelin in Villa María del Triunfo, projects that are testimony to the company’s ability to deliver high quality projects that meet users’ expectations for service and satisfaction.

In the cities of Piura and Chimbote, the authorities of these institutions have handed over the land for the construction of health centres. These acts were performed by a notary public, who avails of the legality of the act.
Hospitals in Chimbote and Piura
In the case of Piura, the project includes the design, financing, construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of a specialized hospital. While the Chimbote Hospital is contemplating a polyclinic and the construction of a contingency hospital to ensure continuity of service during the execution time.
In the case of the Specialized Hospital of Piura, which seeks to benefit more than 866 thousand insured persons, the new infrastructure will be built on an area of 50 thousand m 2. It will also be equipped with 324 hospital beds.
In the case of Chimbote, the project consists of a specialized hospital and a polyclinic of increasing complexity (PCC), as well as the construction of a temporary contingency hospital. This complex will serve more than 300 thousand insured and will have 161 beds of hospitalization.
Both hospitals will be built under the modality of Public-Private Partnership (APP), which guarantees a sustainable and quality public service throughout the concession period.
Stages of the project
The signing of these contracts is only the beginning of a series of actions that are well defined in the contract and designed to ensure the compliance and sustainability of these projects.
The concession period is 20 years. This period covers three years of pre-operational phase, which includes the preparation of the technical file, the construction of the contingency hospital, the construction of infrastructure and equipment, and the start-up. The operational phase, which has a duration of 17 years, includes white-walking, operation and maintenance.
