Guillermo Kaelin Hospital becomes the fourth Blood Bank Type II in Lima South
EsSalud’s hospital Guillermo Kaelin, located in Villa María del Triunfo, ubicado en Villa María del Triunfo, obtained the sanitary authorization of operation as Blood Bank Type II granted by the Ministry of Health, through the National Program of Hemotherapy and Blood Banks (PRONAHEBAS), strengthening the offer of donation points in Lima Sur.
This achievement reflects the dedication of the multidisciplinary team of the hospital to encourage blood donation by increasing the points of donation and processing of heme components in this area of Lima, added to the support given by an adequate infrastructure, Updated equipment and qualified personnel that owns the Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complex.

The head of Blood Bank, Dr. Evelyn Sempertegui, said that this growth consolidates the hospital as a benchmark in donor care, both within the blood bank and through campaigns of intra and extramural donation:
“Kaelin Hospital stands out in its way of working for patient safety. The experience we acquired as a Type I Blood Bank allowed us to raise our potential and believe that it was possible to achieve a higher and better category. This designation allows the hospital to perform advanced procedures such as the fractionation of blood components and serological screening, which means that we provide timely, safe and efficient care to patients’ transfusion requirements”.

The Guillermo Kaelin Hospital Complex of Villa María del Triunfo, managed by the company Villa María del Triunfo Salud SAC belonging to IBT Group, is part of EsSalud to the Rebagliati Network of Services. It consists of a Polyclinic, a Hospital and the Home Unit, managed under the modality of Public Private Association – APP Bata Blanca – and serve a total of 250,000 policyholders and rightholders of Peruvian Social Security since April 2014 who begin their activities.
