Working for connectivity in rural areas
IBT Group USA, LLC is awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant and loan program, which will allow rural populations throughout the country to acquire broadband services
USDA, through its ReConnect program, offers loans and grants for the construction, improvement, or acquisition of facilities to provide broadband service in rural areas where up to 90% of their homes currently lack this service. The more than US$ 667 million invested will allow thousands of people in 22 states of the union to connect with high-speed internet.
IBT participated in the fourth round of ReConnect, a program that will allow the economic growth of the counties as it is deployed. The total cost of the project presented by IBT is more than 24 million dollars that the program will subsidize 100% for an area of 9.6 square miles.
This investment will be used to deploy a fiber-to-the-premises network to provide high-speed Internet. This network will benefit more than eight thousand people, 231 companies, 11 farms and 34 educational centers in the socially vulnerable communities of DeSoto County, in the state of Florida.
BT Group USA, LLC will make high-speed Internet affordable by participating in the Lifeline Program and the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), as well as offering an additional low-cost option discount on your Basic Internet residential broadband price of $4.00 per month for those customers who qualify for Lifeline or ACP.
IBT Group USA, LLC, whose mission is to provide fiber to have high-speed internet at home, to reduce the digital divide by improving connectivity for everyone, is part of IBT Group, a business group with more than 20 years of work in the continent.
This investment will create opportunities for all people, regardless of their location, and will bring modernity and prosperity for future generations.
