IBT Group strengthens its corporate culture with the culture squad

The Squad is a group of collaborators from across the organization very connected to the corporate culture of IBT Group. They are the internal allies that instill confidence in interactions with their peers and encourage teamwork as well as motivate workers with their charisma and good energy.

What makes this program so special?

IBT Group wants to be always close to its employees. The collaborative and horizontal work between all the organization’s ranks allows to promote spaces that generate a positive impact and that are not only key for the company to achieve its objectives, but also to reinforce the good working climate and the smooth communication between all jobs.

The project highlights a position that was already defined by the senior management and the main leaders of each area, with the aim of promoting the corporate culture based on the purpose and principles of the group. This has been key to strengthening a team of more than 3,500 employees.

How was it built?

The IBT Culture Squad project is part of a cultural construction process that began in 2019. One of the elements that constituted it focused on the need to convey the purpose and new organizational values from a more personal and human approach.

To achieve this, the top management and middle managers created the IBT Culture Squad. The specific objectives, qualities of the members and selection filters were defined. Then, in the nomination stage, middle management proposed more than 150 collaborators who met the proposed requirements; however, it was necessary to apply other filters such as performance evaluations, lack of warnings, among others.

Of the total, 50 were pre-selected and had to undergo intensive training in communication skills, handling difficult situations and potential development. Of these, 39 graduated, 10 of whom hold leadership positions called «guardians» and the other 29 are «ambassadors».

What is their current role?

The Squad is tasked with collecting and transmitting the perceptions of other collaborators and channeling them to the Climate and Culture area of the Management and Human Talent management. This information helps to create strategies for improving the working environment, internal communication and can be used to deal with any change situation, always placing employees at the centre.
