IBT GROUP: 1st Company in the health sector with Fourth Carbon Footprint Star Peru
The companies Callao Salud and Villa María del Triunfo Salud, part of the IBT Group, received the Fourth Carbon Footprint Star Peru as one of the results of one of the main lines of action of the sustainability strategy that has been implemented since 2021 in the organization.
Carbon Footprint Peru is an official tool of the Peruvian State that allows us to recognize how public and private organizations have managed their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the benefit of the environment.
The companies Callao Salud and Villa María del Triunfo Salud began managing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2021 by measuring the Footprint and achieving its First Star. Later, in 2022 they obtained the second Star by verifying their previous measurement with an entity accredited in NTP ISO 14064. The Third Star is obtained in 2023 when the reduction of emissions in absolute and/or relative terms is verified thanks to the implementation of the project of change of energy matrix in the hospitals Alberto Barton and Guillermo Kaelin to natural gas.
This year, they achieved the Fourth Star, maximum recognition of the Peru Carbon Footprint Program of the Ministry of Environment, for accompanying one of their strategic suppliers to measure, verify and report their Carbon Footprint in the MINAM program. With this achievement, IBT Group reaffirms its commitment as a benchmark in sustainability in all its sectors and encourages its other companies to continue along this path. IBT Group will continue to work to maintain and exceed these standards, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of Peruvians and the well-being of the planet.
